Nestled along 2.5 miles of shoreline on beautiful Delavan Lake, Lake Lawn Resort offers exceptional guest rooms, dining, indoor pool, fitness center, 18-hole golf course and other activities.
Retreat Includes
- Accommodations: separate bed per person, bathroom/shower in each room, all linens (note: 4-person rooms are loft rooms with 2 beds and a full bath on the main floor and two beds and a bath and a half [sink and toilet] on the upper loft level)
- Transportation to and from the resort
- Meals: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner
- “Encounter” retreat activities
- Fitness center and indoor pool
Other Activities
The following activities can be scheduled and purchased by individuals during free time (not included in registration cost):
- Golf: 9 or 18 holes
- Miniature golf
- Bicycle rentals
- Shuffleboard or frisbee golf
- Boat rentals (great for groups!)
- Note: The spa is closed for renovations and may not be available
Schedule
The bus leaves promptly at 6:30 p.m. on Friday from Calvary Church (park in back of church on west side in last row).
The retreat begins on Friday at 9 p.m. (Eat dinner on your own ahead of time but bring snacks to share on the bus. Note: In this facility, outside snacks are only allowed in the guest rooms, not meeting rooms.)
The retreat ends on Sunday after lunch at about 1:30 p.m.
The bus returns to Calvary on Sunday by 4 p.m.

Cost is $205/person – 4 to a room

Retreat Speaker
John Absher is the Executive Pastor at Harvest Christian Center, El Paso, Texas. Prior to July 2012, he served as the Single Adults’ Pastor at Calvary Church in Naperville, Illinois, for 4 years and also as associate campus pastor at Calvary’s west campus in Sugar Grove. He has been in full-time ministry for 16 years, and his greatest desire is to see Jesus Christ glorified in his life and ministry. God has allowed him to preach the Gospel on six continents (he is just waiting for the opportunity to go to Antarctica). John and his wife, Milena, reside in El Paso, Texas.
Worship Leader
Gary Spell is from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is a pastor, playwright, actor, musician, songwriter and worship leader. Gary is the owner and founder of Glissando Productions and produces five to seven shows annually for the city of Virginia Beach. An accomplished worship leader, Gary has led worship in many venues around the country. He is a frequent worship leader for the Christian Broadcasting Network. Recently, one of his compositions finished in the top 10 out of 100,000 entries in an American Idol songwriter competition. Gary lives in Virginia Beach with his daughter, Grace.
