New Believers

The most important decision we make in this life is where we’ll spend our eternal life! God’s says, ‘You can live how you want, or you can live how I created you to live.’ It’s almost as if God says, ‘It’s your choice.’ It’s still our choice. When we have made that choice, we’re not only ready for eternity…we’re also ready for life now! We need a God who’s now. We need a God who teaches us how to live now. We need a faith that’s about today, that help us understand the world that we live in today.
You have just started a new life, a new journey. God has forgiven you because Jesus Christ, God’s son, gave His life to be punished for your sins. There’s this false, twisted idea out there among religious people that somehow you’ve got to have it all together to have a relationship with God. He gave His life to make you free from the penalty for sin. God says to us, ‘When you come to me, come to me with all your junk, with all your problems, come to me all screwed up, all messed up. Let me take care of it.’ He will make you free from the power of sin, addictions, destructive patterns, wrong choices in your life. He is changing you and making you a new person, a new humanity.
It is not God’s plan that you go on this journey alone. We believe that we were created to live deeply with one another, carrying each other's burdens, sharing our possessions, to pray for and confess our sins to each other, to suffer and celebrate together. It's in these honest, loving relationships that God transforms us and truth becomes a reality. The way of Jesus cannot be lived alone. Because we see faith as a journey, change is assumed, innovation is expected, and rebirth is welcomed.
