Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith. You will find answers and dispel any myths that you may have heard about Christianity. The best part is that that class is conducted in an “unchurchy,” friendly and informal manner. Everyone is welcome to attend this class, including those who would normally not come to church. Whether you consider yourself a new believer, a skeptic, an unbeliever or a seeker, the Alpha Class is calling your name.
What is the point of life? What happens when we die? Is forgiveness possible? What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today? Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting over eight thought-provoking weekly sessions. It is low-key, friendly and fun. Water Baptism is an obedient response and an expression of your faith and commitment to Christ. It does not make you a believer; instead, water baptism is how followers of Christ are identified. Water Baptism is a way to show others that you have entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It symbolizes what took place in your heart at the time of salvation:
You accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
You shared in his death and resurrection, illustrated by going under the water (dead to your old life) and rising again (new life).
You were symbolically washed clean. Your sins were forgiven by Jesus’ death on the cross.
Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, water baptism demonstrates your submission to God.

A small group consists of two to 20 people who gather on a regular basis in homes (Community Groups), at the church (Growth Groups) or online for the purpose of growing in their relationships with God and others. Calvary has a small group for every stage of life. Small groups help make a large church smaller and more personal.
God doesn’t want us to go through life alone … life is better when we do it together! In small groups, we go through the ups and downs of life with one another, and we learn how to live the Christian life together. Calvary desires that everyone participates in a life-changing small group.
