NXT Kids is dedicated to partnering with parents in order to raise kids who know God and His plan for their life.
Weekend services are designed to usher children into a personal and corporate encounter with God. Midweek small groups create a process of growth that continually measures children’s abilities to connect and worship, while also teaching them what it means to serve. Our commitment is to equip kids to live out their faith through a life of service.
If you are planning to visit us for the first time, you can download the NXT Kids visitor information form and bring it with you. Please complete one form per family.

KSG (Kids Small Groups)
7 to 8:30 p.m.
KSG is a great chance for kids to get to know their peers and learn more about God. Our keyword for KSG is "deeper". We desire to help kids grow deeper in three things:
Students in Kindergarten-Grade 5 can choose to participate in any one of the small groups we offer.
Royal Rangers is a discipleship class for boys in Kindergarten - 5th grade. Classes meet every Wednesday evening during the school year from 7-8:30 pm. Royal Rangers focuses on Christ-like character formation and servant leadership development for boys in a relational and fun environment! The mission is to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christ-like men into becoming life-long servant leaders. Classes begin again August 21, 2019. REGISTER NOW! Questions? Please email us.
Missionettes is a discipleship class for girls in Kindergarten - 5th grade. Classes meet every Wednesday evening during the school year from 7-8:30 pm. Missionettes provides grade-level activities to challenge girls in their relationship with God, participation in church and missions, the Bible, friends, family and more! Each week, girls participate in Bible stories, role-playing, fun, fellowship and spiritual growth. Classes begin again August 21, 2019. REGISTER NOW! Questions? Please email us.
Blast is a discipleship program for both boys and girls in Preschool-5th Grade. Wednesday night Blast services during the school year offer a unique opportunity for leaders to personally impact kids. The curriculum is focused on intense discipleship. When leaders share personal experiences, wisdom and their love for Jesus, we find that kids grow in their own faith, as well. Students enjoy large group games, biblical teaching, small group discussion, classroom projects and occasional opportunities to serve. Classes begin again August 21, 2019. No registration fee or pre-registration required. Questions? Please email us.
Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ)
9 a.m. Room 312
Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) is a discipleship ministry for families where students have fun learning more about God through exciting Bible facts and scripture memorization! This group meets on Sundays at 9 a.m. in Room 312. Children who are in grades 1–6 may participate in this exciting activity. In JBQ, kids memorize the 576 questions and answers in the Bible Fact Pack, then they compete with other church teams in quizzing. If you are interested in JBQ, please contact the Papendicks at (630) 653-1132.
His Kids
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
On Sunday mornings during the 11 a.m. service, children with special needs meet in Noah's Park. This class provides a comforting and loving place for children age 4–13 who have difficulty attending a regular children’s program. If you or someone you know has a child who could benefit from this class, or if you are interested in joining this ministry team, please contact us.
We are excited that you are interested in being part of the NXT Kids team at Calvary Church! There are many ways through which you can become involved, and we will work with you to find the best fit. The process of involvement goes as follows:
Application
Orientation/Conversation
Invitation
Observation
Continuation
Each piece of the process is important and will help to bettter serve you as part of the NXT Kids team! Thank you for serving with us!
Child Dedication is an opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child. Dedication is also an opportunity to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home. Finally, dedication at Calvary Church is a family time when parents commit themselves to abiding by biblical principles and raising their children according to God's standards. Not only are you dedicating your child to God, but you are also dedicating yourselves as parents to Christ and the church. You are committing yourselves to maintaining a Christian home in which Christ is honored and the Word of God is held in reverence.
Children who have not yet reached their 5th birthday at the time of the dedication service are welcome to be dedicated.
What about baptism?
Child Dedication at Calvary does not involve baptism. We believe that baptism is meant to take place at a time when an individual makes a personal decision to follow Christ and is old enough to repent of sin and confess Jesus publicly.
Parents
Child Dedication is open to parents who can truthfully say, "I will commit myself to raising this child to know the Lord Jesus Christ by loving, disciplining, training and setting a positive, Christ-like example."
Single Parents
Under certain circumstances, single parents are allowed to participate in Child Dedication. Please contact us and use the information above for an explanation of guidelines. We believe that unmarried parents do not set a Christ-like example by living together. Therefore, unmarried parents will be advised to separate or wait until they are married to dedicate their child. If you have questions regarding these guidelines, please contact Pastor Michael Grove at 630-851-7000.
Membership
Membership at Calvary Church is not required in order to participate in Child Dedication. We do, however, ask that you attend Calvary Church regularly and consider Calvary Church to be your church home.
Calvary Church is organizing a network of people who have a heart for children without families. We would like to provide guidance and support as you walk down this incredibly rewarding path. Our hope is that you begin to see the face of Christ in each of these children.
You can become involved in many different ways—from cooking meals for families to opening your home to an orphan. Regardless of how you choose to serve the orphan, we want to help you do it well. We believe that no one should be in this alone.
