Jr. High

Our programs are uniquely geared toward the interests and attention spans of our junior high students. Through our ministry, junior highers get to experience and explore God’s love for them in interactive and enjoyable activities. We are committed to making the church experience a good one!

At NXTjhi, our aim is to help students connect with other students, with an adult leader and with God. We’re here to invite you to take steps towards spiritual growth. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, we want to help you know God better.

Check it out! Throughout the year, we have many fun events that are specifically designed for junior highers. NXTjhi meets for Grade Groups on Sunday Mornings at 9 and 11 a.m.  We also meet on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for a more traditional youth service.

Fine Arts Ministry

Calling all student creatives to our 2nd year of Fine Arts! The Fine Arts ministry is for students in grades 6–12. Bring your gifts of music, visual art, communication, writing or dance to discover how you can use them for a bigger purpose! This is also a great way to meet others who are gifted and interested in the same things as you! Our hope for the Fine Arts ministry is to raise up young leaders in their giftings in order to use them for God!

(Do you think you have what it takes to be a Fine Arts Coach? Reach out to Karina Negron if you are interested. She will schedule a phone interview with you to see if you're the right fit!)

Important Dates

  • Fine Arts 2019-2020 Info Meeting: Sunday, October 20, 12:30–1:30 p.m. in the Choir Room
  • District Fine Arts Festival at GT Church in Decatur, IL: Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.:
  • National Fine Arts Festival in Columbus, Ohio: Monday, August 3–Friday, August 7

Why Fine Arts?

Simply put, to spread the gospel. Everyone who has received Christ as Savior has been commissioned to be an ambassador for Christ. He is telling the world the good news about Jesus, and he is doing it through you! Whether you sing, play an instrument, dance, design, act or speak, you can be gospel-centered, spirit-empowered and personally responsible for the mission of God.

The A.G. Fine Arts Festival
