Intervention Assistant (full time, hourly)

The Intervention Assistant brings warmth, patience, and understanding to these programs every day, by encouraging children to learn about God, discover their purpose, and make a difference. This position is a support staff position that will help the Academic Services Coordinator implement interventions to enhance student mastery of concepts and academic skills in targeted subject areas based on student/classroom needs.
 
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Implement individual or small group intervention for students in Math and Reading or related activities under the supervision of the Academic Services Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Services Coordinator to prepare and maintain instructional materials.
  • Fulfill the mission of Calvary Christian School to help students know God, achieve academic excellence, discover their purpose, and make a difference.
  • Cooperate with the Administrative Team in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school throughout the school year.  
  • Establish and maintain a developmentally appropriate and excellent environment that supports the growth and development of school-agers.
  • Supervise children by sight and sound at all times.
  • Maintain regular and accurate student records.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in resolving students, parents, and administration conflicts.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled trainings, in-service, faculty, and parent meetings.
  • Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
  • Inform the Academic Services Coordinator and/or Administrative Team in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.
  • Implement appropriate activities in accordance with established program goals and quality standards at Calvary Christian School.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Education or Child Development preferred but not required
  • LBS 1/Special Education experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in education, as supported by three references.
