Generations Social Media Coordinator (Non-Exempt, Part-Time, up to 25 hrs/wk)

The purpose of the Student Ministries Social Media Coordinator is to manage and grow all social media accounts for Calvary’s student ministries: kids, youth and young adults.
 
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all posting on all student ministry social media accounts, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies and campaigns to build brand/ministry awareness

    • Meet weekly with each ministry to determine current and ongoing vision and goals for their social media presence
    • Develop a strategy and schedule of posts for each ministry that reflect their vision and goals
    • Develop post content, including video and graphics
      • Short-form videos that can be captured on either a camera or a phone
      • Graphics designed in either Photoshop or Illustrator
    • Write professional captions that reflect the culture and values of each ministry and of Calvary Church
    • Schedule posts and monitor performance
  • Interact with followers through these social media accounts including but not limited to responding to direct messages and engaging in the comments, being sure to like or respond to every comment on every platform
  • Analyze results from posts and campaigns, identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements
  • Research social media trends and suggest changes that are relevant to Calvary’s marketing initiatives
  • Attend weekly services of these ministries for the purpose of capturing photos and videos to be used on social media channels
    • Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, Thursday nights
    • Some Sunday nights to capture HS small groups
    • Ministry-specific events
  • Recruit, develop and manage a serve team who can help create content for each account
 
Required Qualifications
  • Passionate about social media and the potential to reach an unlimited number of students with the truth and love of Christ
  • Intuition toward technology and social media in general (i.e. social media comes “naturally”)
  • People oriented—able to share vision and inspire others to serve
  • Experience in DSLR photography (additional training will be provided)
  • Experience in videography (additional training will be provided)
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience
    • Photoshop and IllustratorSome video editing knowledge and experience 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, especially in an area of communications
  • Graphic design experience (Photoshop + Illustrator)
  • Experience with DSLR photography and editing using Lightroom
  • Experience with capturing video using phone and editing to create reels or stories
  • Comfortable with Apple computers (or willing to learn)
  • Comfortable with technology in general and able to quickly learn new software and systems
